Windows: Add an address to Outlook Express

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts:
  3. Tools > Accounts

  4. Click the Add button and select the Mail… option:
  5. Add > Mail ...

  6. Type your name in the space provided, and click the Next button:
  7. Type the name for your email account

  8. Type in email address you are creating the account for, and click the Next button:
  9. Type your email address

  10. Choose POP3 in the drop-down box; fill in the incoming and outgoing mail server information. Both will be mail. followed by your domain name. Click the Next button when you are done:
  11. Type 'mail.' and your domain name

  12. Type your whole email address again (e.g. you@yourdomain.com .. the whole thing) in the space provided for Account Name. Type in your password, check the Remember password checkbox, and click the Next button:
  13. Type your whole email address again

  14. Click the Finish button:
  15. Finish initial setup

  16. Make sure the new account is highlighted, and click the Properties button:
  17. Edit the new account properties

  18. On the Servers tab, click on My server requires authentication, so that a tick appears next to it.
  19. Servers > My server requires authentication

  20. On the Advanced tab, change port 25 to 587
  21. Advanced > Change port 25 to 587

  22. Click the Apply button and close the Internet Accounts window. Outlook Express is now setup to send and receive email.
